Yesterday, I went to my first college football game and watched the Sun Devils battle against the #6 team the Oregon Ducks. Although, we didn’t win and to be honest I didn’t think we would because we have a young team and the Ducks just won the Rose Bowl, but if we did win we knew it would be one of the biggest upsets of the season. Jessica came out to join me at the game because she is the outgoing one and talks to just about everyone- after all that would be why she has more friends at ASU then I do, no I am not kidding.  

Our day started early with tailgating and let me tell you ASU knows how to tailgate and many of the students have the shirts to prove it. Some of my favorite shirts of the day/night said “Win or Lose we still Booze,” “We Pregame harder then you Party,” and “Tailgate Tempe- We know how to Party.”  There was never a down moment all day.

Welcome to SUN DEVIL Stadium

When we arrived in the stadium you could feel the pride that the ASU students have for their football team. Or maybe I can feel it because my high school didn’t have pride in our football team because we simply sucked.  Jessica, Paul, Chris, and myself (we’re the only 4 from our tailgating group that actually went to the game and we had about 50-75 people tailgating with us!) made our way to our seats in the student section almost to the last row of the stadium (note to self, get there sooner next time- and I hope there is a next time.)  We quickly made friends with the guys behind us and the ones in front of us.

  The poor UofA guy got bagged on the whole game- come on it just doesn’t make any sense why he was at our game when UofA also had a home game.  He wasn’t the only guy in the student section not wearing gold… buried within all of the gold was a green shirt that only meant one thing a ducks fan! You can only guess how much crap everyone said to him every time we scored or even just for fun. It kept me laughing the whole time as the guys behind us were the ones that kept it going at those two guys all night.  Also, I can't forget about the lady that had her computer with her at the game! Yes, I know you have wifi but really now!

Overall, it was good night even with the lose score being 42-31 Oregon but at least we held them and they didn’t walk all over us!
