Over the last almost ten months I have been reading a blog written by Lisa Husmann, a mom who use to go to our church. Lisa and Josh, the old college paster at our church, were expecting their second baby boy. No one can tell Lisa and Josh's story better than Lisa, so I encourage you to read her words because there is no way I can tell you where her heart has been this whole entire pregnancy. Note: You will want a box of tissues and a few hours to read their amazing story. The link I provided will start you on the day they found out they were pregnant. To continue reading just click the title in the top left corner and it will take you through their journey. If you would rather just read from the last few days here is a link for that and it starts with todays news :(
On February 23, 2011 Lisa, Josh, and proud big brother Jake welcomed little Jaxton into the world. Today, Jaxton is 12 days old and being loved by his family and the thousands of people who have read Lisa and Josh's story. Tonight, the family of four will take some family pictures and send time together. However, tomorrow, these parents will have to make the hardest and worse decision a parent can ever have to make.
From Lisa's blog (written by her friend Aimee) "josh and lisa will hold jaxton and at some point turn off the machines that are keeping jaxton breathing and alive. jaxton will be sedated and will feel no pain."
Prayer is a powerful thing and tonight the thousands of us who have read Lisa's story and know Lisa and Josh are praying for a miracle with little Jaxton. And if a miracle is not what God has planned for the life he created for Jaxton before Lisa and Josh even knew they would have this little boy that God takes him without pain and calmly.
Please pray for this family that their hearts will not question God and his decision. Also, that they will know his love is with them when they make the decision. That they will know they did nothing wrong and the doctors and nurses did all they could. That they are loved by thousands who have been touched by not only their story but how strong they have been with their faith through everything. From the start they gave Jaxton to the Lord and now they will physically give him to him.
Let this remind you everyday to count your blessings.....
